Coffee With Cats

It starts with a coffee mug, a cat, and a camera.

Origin Story

One day, while taking photos of Puchu, one of our rescued cats, through the curve of my coffee mug, inspiration hit. I realized I could merge my passion for photography with aiding the street cats I often meet during shoots in Mumbai. After all, since adopting our two cats, I hadn't really engaged in much active feline assistance. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to do more. Since Puchu and my other cat Toby often keep me company while I enjoy my morning coffee at the computer, it seemed fitting to name the project 'Coffee With Cats'.

The Concept

Whenever I meet a stray cat, I aim to catch its interest, positioning it behind a coffee mug I bring along, which serves both as a prop for the photo and a makeshift water bowl if the cat comes close and is thirsty. Often, these strays might ignore me and move on, but I'll still capture their image, framed by the mug. My goal is not just to photograph and help them with food and water but also to highlight the issue of stray cats in Mumbai. Ultimately, I'm hoping this project will garner enough attention to support a fundraising drive for a trusted local cat charity.

What You Can Do

Join me as I advance the Coffee With Cats project in Mumbai, capturing the lives of local strays. Follow the journey online, where I'll be sharing new images frequently, especially through the challenging summer months when the need for water is critical.

Consider supporting the cause by donating to one of the Mumbai-based organizations featured on our page. Rest assured, all contributions are directed to these groups to aid in their efforts.

Or, why not engage with the Coffee With Cats initiative in your own way? While you don't need to use a coffee mug or snap photos, though I'd love to see your creative approaches, the essence of the project is to provide for local strays. Please check with local regulations and non-profits to ensure your involvement is safe and lawful. Your participation, whether through following, donating, or actively helping, plays a vital role in this compassionate undertaking.

Donations go directly to the organization.
